Ethiopia holds an unrivaled status, unlike any other producing country. Largely held as the “birthplace” of Arabica coffee, coffee grows naturally here. In every other producing country in the plant was not introduced as a cash crop through colonization. Instead, growing, processing, and drinking coffee is part of the Ethiopian way of life, every day, and has been that way for centuries.
Genetically, the diversity of Ethiopian coffee is unmatched. There is 99% more genetic material in Ethiopia’s coffee alone than in the rest of the world. Because of this, coffees from Ethiopia are held with reverence which is unparallel. That being said, ironically, Ethiopian coffees are not for everyone as they can be quite floral and refined, or very winey and fruit-forward.
Haile Hora’s coffee comes from the Bensa Territory, located in the Sidama Zone. It is then meticulously processed under careful protocol at his family’s washing station, which is a part of the Daya Bensa group.
Haile Hora is a stunner of a coffee. It is very complex in the cup offering citrus and floral notes. Its body is on the refined side but still weighty enough to offer great balance. If you are a coffee lover, Haile Hora will not disappoint.
