About This Coffee:
An absolutely classic representative from Yirgacheffe, Banko Taratu is full of the quintessential jasmine and citrus of the region, and double fermentation serves to highlight the inherent complexity of such a well-grown coffee. We love this coffee as a filter brew, but we’d be remiss to downplay this coffee’s versatility, so brew it as you wish! You’ll be met with nuance and delight any way you prepare Banko Taratu.

Falcon Coffees
Falcon Coffees
Falcon Coffees is a specialty green coffee trader, with a focus on sustainability, collaboration, and positive social and environmental impact.
To condense their work into words is indeed a challenge, but in our experience at Tenfold, Falcon is a superlative trader, who embodies their values in all they do. With a robust network of people (85 staff), offices (across 10 countries and 5 continents), and community initiatives (environmental, social, governance), they seek to improve livelihoods across the supply chain.
As they put it themselves;
“Falcon was born out of the conviction that the coffee industry has the potential to drive enormous socio-economic change and harness environmental stewardship across a geo-political landscape that is home to both vulnerable communities and fragile ecosystems. Our purpose is to help drive this change.
We achieve this by focusing on quality. Improved quality increases household revenue through price premiums. Improved incomes are the economic incentive to better social and environmental practices. Higher standards combine with higher quality to drive market demand.”
We highly recommend you learn more about Falcon at their website, falconcoffees.com
EDN Coffee
EDN Coffee Export PLC (EDN) is a producer/exporter of high quality Ethiopian coffee, mostly from the Yirgacheffe Region. Not only were they the first company to install a cherry color sorting system in Ethiopia, but they are building their own dry mill, in time for the 2026 harvest season.
After the Southern Ethiopian drought during the ‘21-’22 harvest season, while a great many producers saw a marked drop in quality of washed coffees, EDN maintained their excellence through highly organized crop management, and careful attention to detail in processing. Falcon Coffees has partnered with EDN for 3 years now for their commitment to quality, consistency, and sustainability.
Banko Taratu
Banko Taratu is a village in the Gedeo Zone of Ethiopia (in the Yirgacheffe Region), which is among the highest growing areas in the country. Like villages all over Ethiopia, coffee is central to life, community, and commerce. It’s how the people connect and celebrate, and with proper attention and intention how they create income to support their healthcare, education, and other essential needs.
EDN’s processing site, named for the village, is an anchor here (it’s one of 3 they operate within the Gedeo Zone). They commit to vertical integration with the farmers of Banko Taratu through financial support, subcontracting opportunities, offering premiums for high quality. -
